Lyzel Tibe Lyzel is a Filipina who has been involved with our ministry since we returned in 2006. She continues to serve alongside our teams and is certainly a close and good friend with many of our team members. Below she wrote an update on her involvement with the Summer Interns this past couple weeks.
I really had a great time being with the interns now; i enjoy a lot every each moment with them. i experience many things in this trip. Main thing is know GOD more and on how i could talk to him every time i need him that i don’t want to feel alone in this kind of life; i have so many friends that love me though. At this time i got a chance to talk to kuya (words of respect) gregg and tell him what’s My thoughts about everything just like here in the dumpsite people that they were not different with us, that there is still hope, that they would get out of those place where they are at.
Now i could say is i think i learn a lot on this trip together with the interns. We sleep always late because of telling thoughts with each others experience on that day. After i dig a trash on the dumpsite it was so amazing at the same time feeling so sorry for those people because i cannot help them all i can do is love them and pray for them. I was telling to kuya gregg that i have this chance to talk to people there on what are there feelings about where they at and how they feel about us why we are there and why we are keep on asking them. The lady name imelda i got to talk to her and ask some question about her life. How much she got everyday day by digging in that trash and if she had a husband and how many kids she have. They where so true with there answer to me. just like i get a 100 pesos a day up but it is not still enough for them to buy food and stuff. some had 8 kids that’s a lot for that kind of environment where they think it is not good to have lot’s of kids, you know. But i still understand them they don’t have enough education for that stuff they don’t have any idea about family planning. Thanks to kuya Gregg that he would be able to talk to me a lot. I had a chance to teach with the kids her in the dumpsite they don’t have school uniform and even though slippers they don’t. I was asking one of the kid if he had enough school supplies and he said that he only had is paper and pen. They are willing to learn though as i watch over them and eager to learn so much stuff. I teach one of those kid how to read and write. It is being schedule by day and afternoon. It was so good i like being with them that i could teach them. God was so good thank GOD that i experience like this.
